I thought this book was pretty boring. It has a great concept (leopard people) but the writing is juvenile. I found myself skimming - something I almose never do. There are so many good books out there about weres this in not one I'd recogmend. Who knows, though. Maybe the author's skills will improve...

Careful! You may have already read this:
This book INCLUDES the novel, Wild Rain (0515136824), along with a novella, "The Awakening," which was also published in the anthology, Fantasy (0515132764). Since they were labeled as Leopards series books 1 and 2, I was confused and got this book when it contained nothing new for me. I'll try to fix that, but thought this additional information might help others avoid my mistake.
If you haven't read either of these, it's typical Feehan, but with the new angle of a shape-changer and set in the South American rain forest.

Two books in one. A novella and a full length story. Feehan provides paranormal romance with just enough edge, but doesn't creep you out.

Fever consists of 2 stories - one being the novella - The Awakening - and the other being the book - Wild Rain - Both stories grab you and don't let go. The heroes are alpha males who show their tender side with strong heroines as well. The stories are filled with romance, action and intrigue. It not only introduces you to the Leopard series, but gives you a great story to sink your paws into. There are great descriptions of the 'shifting' as well as the jungle. I recommend this series - and can't wait for the next book Burning Wild that comes out later this month.
