With easy to read technical information, and excellent illustrations, Harriet Hargrave has given quilters and sewers a better understanding of how textiles are made, and how to care for them. Included are directions for testing fiber count, thread count, colorfastness, lightfastness, washfastness, and shrinkfastness and so, so much more. The long list of information, instructions, and applications includes the effects of water and detergents on different fabrics and dyes, batting selection charts, how to store quilts and fabrics, etc., etc. I cannot imagine a more complete book on these subjects. There's nothing else quite like it. This is a great reference book for the quilter's library.
