Maybe I've been spoiled by Robbins' earlier works. It took a long while for me to get into this one. I had to come back to it several times. But Robbins is a master story weaver and by the end I loved it, like all the others.

Not one of my favorite Robbins' books, but still full of his trademark imagery. Just be forewarned that the narrator has an obsession with his adolescent step-sister -- I had a little trouble with that myself.

Second tier Tom Robbins

I liked this book immensely. It is a little different than most of the other Tom Robbins' books I have read, whose formats all seem to follow a similar guideline. There is even a character in this book that is seen again in Villa Incognito!

Overall, I really loved this book. It wasn't as "easy" to blow through as his others, even though I would read it every night for hours.
