This book is so historically inaccurate that it was difficult to read. This book is written in a totally different style then the authors previous books.

He had 4 daughters already and was told that the baby she carried would be a boy but in the time of delivery, the husband had to make a choice and so he chose the baby since it was to be a boy and the doctor said it would be more apt to make it before his wife and then it turns out it is a girl and the father turns away from her and goes to London to stay with the other girls and leaves her in the country with a cousin. so she does not know what loves is because no one has shown her any. it is very good book.
What an interesting way to learn history!
Elaine Coffman writes beautiful historical novels; in this one she takes us from the moors of Yorkshire to the hills of romantic Tuscany.
