I couldnt put it down..I just finished On the Fifth Day and was very pleased with it. The book was well written, strong characters, and a super fast read. The plot was interesting and easy to follow. A great book I would recommend to anyone who likes the spin on Christianity and some of the religious icons.

A great thriller. Makes you think of the Davinci Code but instead of the Holy Grail this deals with early Christian Symbols related to evolution. Couldn't put it down!

Very good in a "DaVinci Code" kind of way. Starts strong and stays that way throughout the entire story. Plot is structured so that it's almost impossible to figure out the ending in advance.

This second novel by Hartley does take a little longer to get moving along. For me, the storyline picks up and begins to draw me in around page 137. Once the traveling occurs as Thomas Knight tries to follow the trail of his late brother, the "mystery" of what his brother had been searching for is fun to follow.
I was disappointed in how Deborah interacts in this storyline (she was the main character from "Mask of Atreus".
Overall, I liked the novel, but was not blown away. I found Hartley's first novel to be more interesting than this one; however, I will likely seek out the third novel, which Knight is the main character.

Thrilling and absorbing. A great mystery.
