I read this book quite some time ago but remember it to have some very sad parts. The inside cover says this 'Fine Things is a tale of survival, drama, and powerful caring... It is a tale of loss, survival, adn the price we sometimes pay for loving.'

As college ends for Bernie, he thinks he is ready to become a teacher in a private school, but he needed to get a master's degree. Meanwhile, he takes a job at a clothing store. His ideas catch the eye of the manager and his life is transformed. His rise in the clothing industry is beyond recognition. He deals with marriage, the death of a wife, taking care of children, and meeting a lady he falls in love with. Many emotions are brought to you in this book.

Internationally renowned novelist Danielle Steel, continues to surpass her previous triumphs with Fine Things, her 17th consecutive best seller. Fine Things is a very different book for Danielle Steel; it's setting is contemporary, its central character a man we come to know and love as she tells his story. (as per inside of book) I loved this book. It was a book that I couldn't put down. Very very touching story.
