It's a race against time, technology, & dangerous killers!
With Firewall, DiAnn Mills draws her readers in, holding them breathlessly hostage until the very last page. She is a master at her craft and her genre. I really enjoyed this book and am anxiously awaiting book two in the series when it releases.
I got hooked on DiAnn Mills' writing with her book The Survivor, and I look forward to each new title. I was very excited to read and review Firewall and had been anxiously awaiting its release. As expected she took me on an edge-of-your-seat read that I just couldn't put down.
I kept wondering if Taryn could be involved or if she has been set up. If she's been set up then who did it and why? Would Grayson continue to help her even when it looked bad for Taryn's honesty?
There was a surprise character that I just fell in love with, he's just great! I'd love to tell you who, but.....I can't spoil the story for you, now can I? Well, let's just say that he's a real buddy when Taryn needs one the most.
I think part of what made the story so riveting is that with the increase in terrorism and violence it is something you could expect to see on the 6 o'clock news. In some ways it was a little scary thinking about an airport bombing, imagining how easily it could happen nearby, to people you know.
One of the elements I liked the most was learning about the investigative process and all of the work that goes into bringing the perpetrators of such a crime to justice. Detailed and interesting but still a novel, a story above all else.
Firewall is exciting, thrilling, and once you pick it up you won't want to set it down until you know who did what and why. Don't miss this latest book from DiAnn Mills!

Taryn marries a man she has only known for three months, and at the airport leaving for their honeymoon, the couple is separated and a bomb goes off. The FBI thinks Taryn is involved in the crime and that her husband isn't who he says he is. FBI agent Grayson works with Taryn to solve the case.
I liked this book and the continuous action. The story flows along nicely and is wrapped up by the end of the book.

Pleasantly surprised
A fast-paced novel that keeps you turning the pages wondering what was going to happen next. Well, except for those few things you can guess from the outset. Just before 3/4 of the way through I started feeling like the book just needed to wrap up - but whatever snag that was quickly disappeared. The predictable romance was tolerable, and I prefer books without them - however, all things considered, it's really pretty tasteful. I'd never read one of DiAnn Mills' books before, and, honestly, wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised and I liked this one well enough that I'll probably pick up another. Solid 4 stars.
(Side note rant: why can't artists get things right? The main female character has auburn hair and green, & the main dude, dazzling blue eyes. Hello, how hard would it be to draw what is written? But, this isn't the first book cover to be incorrect.)

About this book:
"In a matter of minutes, Taryn Young's happily ever after turns into her waking nightmare.
After a whirlwind romance, software developer Taryn Young is en rote to a dream honeymoon when a bomb decimates the terminal, killing dozens. Injured, she awakens in the hospital to discover her husband is missing, and they're both considered prime suspects in the attack. Further, the FBI is convinced her husband isn't who he appears to be.
Agent Grayson Hall's first priority is to catch those responsible for the bombing. Despite the evidence pointing Taryn's guilt, Grayson's gut tells him she's innocent...and in danger. With a possible mole in the FBI office, Grayson and Taryn fight to stay ahead of her pursuers, especially when they learn what the bombers are really after: Taryn's latest high-security software project. In the wrong hands, it could leave the US vulnerable to massive attacks.
With national security on the line, Taryn and Grayson must unravel the plot and find the architect before their firewall is breached."

Pre Teens- One Star
New Teens- One Star
Early High School Teens- Two Stars
Older High School Teens- Two Stars (and a half)
My personal Rating- Two Stars
**The cover?! Taryn described with having auburn hair with green eyes--not black hair with blue eyes! Maybe that's supposed to be Iris? That's the only thing I can figure. Also, Grayson is a blonde...? Maybe that's Shep? I don't know...
While I thought this book was okay, and I liked where it was set {but not really, cause when I think about it and all that happens, it's way too close to some of my family} this would not be a book for teens, it's pretty rough.
