A complicated national dilemma - the President of USA is blackmailed into releasing five sadistic detainees from Guantanamo Bay. The counter terrorism
operative Scot Harvath's friends relatives, people close to him, are being targeted by an assasin - Scott is left to contend on his own with the help of the President and his supervisors. It is only through his persistence to stop the terrorism in spite of warnings and rejection by his own superiors adn fellow operatives, that the end of this particular threat comes to reality. Very convoluted and keeps continual interest. It fits with the current times and national fears for the country and hope.

One of my favorite Brad Thor thrillers so far. Our hero Scot is back at it, saving our country and his own ass from terrorists around the world. This book moves fast, and brings back characters from the previous books. You don't need to have read them, to get the story, but it will help.

Having recently stumbled across the series of books written by Brad Thor, I have to admit they're good. If you are into suspense and espionage, then these books are right up your alley. Thor's book offers the reader a number of twists and turns. Just when you think you've figured out the "who done it", another bit of extraneous information is dropped into your lap. This info changes the direction of the plot and adds another element to the story.

Although this book falls within the same genre as Vince Flynn's series, it doesn't keep you on the edge of your seat like Flynn's books. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Fast-paced...you have to pay close attention to details in these Scot Harvath books or you'll miss some very important clues.
When people close to Scot are being targeted and murdered, he looks to the President for help in tracking them down. However, this is one time that the President refuses to help him and even orders him off of the case, but won't tell him why.
So, going against the President's orders, he launches an investigation of his own and it leads him where he never thought he'd be again.

When the president of the US is blackmailed into releasing 5 detainees from Guantanamo Bay, a sadistic assasin with a vendetta years in the making is reactivated. Suddenly, the people closest to counterterrorism opperative Scot Harvath are being targeted and he realizes that somehow, somewhere he has left the wrong person alive. With his life plunged into absolute peril, and the president ordering him to stay out of the investigation Harvath must mount his own covert plan and in doing so wil uncover shattering revelations about the organizations and the nation he has spent his life serving.

I found this book to be a thriller...keeps you on the edge of your seat! It has some coarse language, if you find that offensive and be forewarned this book is not for the squeamish...lots of blood and guts!
