This book is a great source for any first-year teacher, and it brings up a lot of practical issues that aren't covered in your teacher education classes. Nicely organized, easy to read, positive and up beat, as well as very practical! It is a little out of date (written during the late 80's/early 90's so it doesn't address technology). However, if you're a new teacher, you should get this book!

This is a great book for a new teacher. It is full of very practical ideas for setting up your classroom, discipline strategies and communicating with parents. It is very positive and encouraging.
Wonderful info for classroom teacher. This is a must for a new teacher!

This book has become a traditional gift for the new teacher. It is an excellent source of information for anyone entering this completely overwhelming but rewarding line of work. It contains everything from ideas for setting rules to handling the diverse personalities of all student. A great reference for new teachers.

Excellent guide to first year teachers on classroom management
This is an excellent read. A a veteran teacher but at a new school I needed new techniques to deal with some pretty difficult students. The book is clear and concise. Wonderful!!

This book is geared primarily toward new teachers in elementary school. I'm a veteran teacher in high school, but I still found a few interesting and useful ideas. The presentation is a bit too "busy" for me, but I definitely recommend it for the intended audience.
