A great series of books! A bit of nostalgia reading again.
One of Laurence Sander's finest. While a killer is roaming the city, Edward X Delaney's wife is dying of a mystery disease. Must read for those who enjoy a good mystery.

This is an excellent book! Very riveting!

Sanders at his best! This is the novel that launched Sanders' career. Meet Captain Delaney, you will want to read all the Delaney series.

Quite the trip into someone's mind with this one. Great book!!

ultimate pschosexual thriller,,, a suspense novel,,, a shocking story
One of my all-time favorite serial killer suspense novels. Described as the "ultimate psychosexual thriller", it has all the elements to keep you up all night -- truly impossible to put down.
I had forgotten how wonderful Lawrence Sanders wrote.
Top thriller, so well written, good till the last drop/page.

Wow, I read this book about 20 years ago and remembered it as being really good. Just reread it and the story is still good but you can see how much things have changed in the past 33 years. You tend to forget how people spoke or treated other people. The medical world has changed significantly and law enforcement. I found myself shaking my head while reading but still enjoyed the book. For those who think that things have gotten worse and remember the "good old days" read this book, then you will have to admit that somethings have improved.

THE UNFORGETABLE STORY OF A METICULOUS KILLER WITH A SPECIAL HATRED FOR WOMEN AND THE COP WHO VOWS TO TRACK HIM DOWN.

This is a gripping story with a complex murderer, an unusual and brutal series of deaths, a clever and relentless police investigator, absorbing characters, page-turning suspense.....until the climax. Then it goes THUD. Still, a good read even if it leaves you with a disappointment in the last few pages.
