Good book and story line. Peniel, a boy blind from birth, is the key narrator. Like other Bodie Thoene stories there were multiple story lines running and eventually intertwining. My only frustration was I had a hard time with the names and places -- I realize that it was probably more authentic but since I don't know how to pronounce more historically correct spelling it was distracting for me -- enough so that I do not think I will stick with this series.

First Light is the start of an enlightening and totally refreshing series. If you have ever wondered what Bible times were like or just did not even think of the people of the Bible as real, then this series is for you.
This book is centered on the story of Peniel, a young blind man that is healed by Jesus. The authors have really brought the Bible to life; you can feel this young man's impressions especially when he encounters the Master.
I do want to let you know that the language and written style is hard to get used to for the first 100 or so pages but after that, it is smooth sailing.

I love this series! I am intrigued with how the Thoene's bring the bible to life:-) It is fun to imagine along with them details the bible does not include. I think they do a great job of following the scriptures.
