Makes you shiver in the cold of the mountains -- the difficult environment in which these heroes lived required bravery beyond most of what one sees today. Excellent read.
Johnstone is one of the premier western writers now. He has several series of westerns and this is one of the best. If you like westerns with an edge, this is the series for you. Characters are tough, unforgiving and justice is quick and deadly. Book is in excellent condition. Johnstone does his history homework on the land and people. It shows in the writing. Great series.
