Okay, this is my first story, so please leave a comment, whether good or bad, and let me know what's on your mind when you read this. Thanks!!!
You know that moment, when the earth smells of rain, even though the pavement is about as dry as a summer in Arizona, and you can just sense the oncoming torrent of wind and rain, and the gentle breeze is barely taunting you with the promise of rain, the smell just barely touching your mouth before being swept away? When the clouds hold their head high in the sky, huge from the accumulated water, fit to burst, and it's just about to rain, and the clouds are trying to hold onto the rain, even though you and they know that they will inevitably lose the battle, and the whirlwind of liquid will come pouring down onto the expectant earth. The world is bursting of excitement and anticipation, waiting for that glorious moment when the first raindrops of the season come crashing down upon the expectant earth, and the earth releases a collective sigh, basking in the glory that is the first rain. |
