Me First
Author: Helen Lester, Lynn Munsinger (Illustrator)
Being first isn't always best, as Pinkerton Pig finds out after an encounter with a mean Sand Witch. As always, Helen Lester's wonderfully offbeat humor and Lynn Munsinger's whimsical illustrations result in a hilarious lesson about piggishness.

This story is written in a funny way to teach children that being first isn't always best. It was a good introduction to our unit on manners and respecting others. The children I read the story to loved the illustrations, especially of Sandwitch. The story also was able to keep the attention of these children.
