I love the Amos Decker character and his relationship with his FBI partner Alex, and his best friend Melvin Mars. He is a very complex man, with a photographic memory, which happened when he was hit in his head while playing major league football.

This is the third book, where Amos, Alex and his FBI crew are looking into a murder of a young woman, committed in front of the FBI building and witnessed by Amos. The man then turned the gun on himself.

The story goes on with lots of twists and turns, as the FBI could not find any connection between the shooter and the victim. I was so glad to see Melvin playing a big part as he meets Harper Brown, a DIA Agent, and they are instantly attracted to each other. She tells them to back off the investigation since it's a high priority spy case. They make a pact to help each other.

The ending was eventful, exciting and tense and I was surprised at the outcome.

Relatively intriguing story about the FBI, spies, etc. A fun read to distract you from the real FBI and spies.

Excellent book 10 out of 10. Good main character and unusual plot lines.

I liked this installment in the Amos Decker series except for David Baldacci repeating the information over and over again throughout the book. It tended to make the book boring in those areas. Otherwise, the plot was good and the characters were interesting. I do look forward to the next Amos Decker book as I do like the character very much. I would recommend reading the first two books before this one in order to understand the character better but the book can stand alone also. I would highly recommend this book to those who love mystery thrillers with quirky characters.

I thought "The Fix" was one of Baldacci"s best, certainly the best of the Amos Decker series. It had a plot that kept this reader guessing to the very end.

Good page-turner, the story flows like a puzzle, revealing one piece at a time with lots of surprises along the way
