Great book. Intricate plotting and, best of all, Dr. Temperance Brennan saves the day by reasoning out the particulars of a triple homicide. I was hooked from page one. Interesting, satisfying read.
Having read all of this series, I was excited when #14 came out and couldn't wait to read it. I feel as if I am communicating with an old friend. This time, however, I was a bit bored by the story. It felt as if Ms. Reichs took advantage of Temperance Brennan's fans by getting something to the press. Sorry old friend but this one was a total yawn.

A neighbor gave me this book, and I was disappointed to see it was No. 14 in a series but read it anyway and thoroughly enjoyed the story. Being part of a series did not detract from the story. There were mentions of past events/characters, but it was well explained and not having read previous books was not a problem. This story centers on the Charlotte/Concord, NC area and various murders/mysteries that must be investigated during NASCAR race week.
Good book. Nice read
