Ten-year-old Taylor McKenzie is very sad over the death of her grandmother, who was also her best friend. Then she finds an old tattered book called Flashflood. It's about two best freinds named Abby and Emma...and they remind Taylor of her grandmother and herself. Just reading the story makes her feel closer to her grandmother. But Taylor still feels lonely. Although she had such wonderful times at her grandmother's house, she hasn't been able to go there sincer her grandmother's been gone. Taking a lesson from the story of Abby and Emma, Taylor finds the courage to ride her bicycle over to the house. Curling up on her grandmother's bed, she falls asleep. When she wakes up, it's dark outside...and there's something in the house! Now Taylor must face her fears--and find out who it is...
