Part of her SEAL Team 16 series, this is the first book in Tom Paoletti's "Troubleshooters" saga. Starring Decker, Nash and Tess - it takes place in K-stan (aka "The Pit") and has them looking for an elusive laptop belonging to a terrorist who died in a recent earthquake. Nice love triangle between the aforementioned characters and throws in another female American to the mix once they arrive. Not a keeper but I did enjoy the action. Could have used a little more romance and a little less "save the heroine from the bad guys".

Great book! Fast paced, sexy. A Navy Seal type book. I really enjoy Suzanne Brockmann. I only read her books after joining the swap. Now I have been through three and am still looking for more.

Readers first meet Agency computer specialist Tess Bailey posing as a topless barmaid in order to save field agent Lawrence Decker from a deadly setup. After she and gorgeous macho agent Diego "Jimmy" Nash succeed in rescuing Decker, they celebrate with a steamy one-night stand that they both later regret. Months later, Tess quits when she doesn't get the promotion she was promised; conveniently, partners Decker and Nash have quit the Agency as well and have signed on with a covert private agency, Troubleshooters, Incorporated. Great action, suspense, drama, romance and humor.
I honestly couldn't finish this book. It revolves around Kazbekistan and terrorists which is a topic I absolutely abhor. Since I really like Suzanne Brockmann, I didn't read the back of the book before I purchased and I really should have. I greatly enjoy her writing and this book is no different from her others in that regard. I made it up to page 150 before I gave up. The whole terrorism thing and degrading women was just too much for me.

I have not found one of the troubleshooters series yet that I did not like it is going to be a disappointment to get to the last one. I wish they would keep coming.
This was an extremely good read!! I tend to skip past "dry" parts of a book - this one had me turning & reading every page. I liked to change of locale - Kasbekistan isn't a usual choice. Ms. Brockmann made her characters - all of them - seem like regular people, with all the quirks us humans possess. This was the 1st "Troubleshooter" book I've read but I plan on reading as many as I can. Well-written, fast-paced drama-romance without alot of fluff.

Part of Troubleshooters series, but does not involve Navy SEALs. Brockmann's characters are well-developed and she really lets us get into her heroes' heads.
2005 book. Troubleshooters Inc. is an agency made up mostly of ex government agents from various agencies. I helps private citizens in trouble or goes where the Government can't officially go. This time they are after the laptop of a deceased terrorist and find a citizen or two in trouble while looking for it. I enjoyed it.
Jimmy Nash and Tess Bailey are together again. Well sort of. Several months ago, Tess, a computer analyst, helped Nash save his best friend and colleague Decker from a potential hit. With the adrenaline running high and eyes wide open, Nash and Tess had a one night stand after all was said and done. Now, they are part of a team sent to Kazbekistan to help recover a laptop with enough information that could put a major dent in the fight against terrorism. Can these two work together or will their attraction get them killed?

Jimmy Nash and Lawrence Decker work undercover for the CIA. They both leave the Agency after an incident where they were deemed expendable. A major earthquake in the country of Kazbekistan has caused the war-torn country to open its borders for aid. This gives Tom Paoletti's group, Troubleshooters, Inc., a chance to enter the country posing as relief workers. Their mission is to find the laptop of an al-Queda operative who was killed in the earthquake. Nash and Decker are part of the group infiltrating the country. Another member is computer expert Tess Bailey. Tess and Nash had a one night of passion before he left the agency. Now they must pose as husband and wife as they fulfill their mission to recover the missing laptop.
This is the seventh book in the Troubleshooters series, but the first book where the Troubleshooters are not part of a Navy SEAL team. We have a lot of brand new characters in this book, including Nash, Decker and Tess. Even though I didn't know these characters, I was pulled right into the story and couldn't put it down. My rating: 5 Stars.
