Got this just because of a statement about some of the groteseque imagery inside. I'm so glad I did. My faith in the horror genre has been renewed. Most of the books I've seen lately in the store seem to be a rehash of the same old stuff, over and over again. Ok, I admit there is a creepy house like in a lot of books nowdays. (it's either haunted houses, or vampires) But really the plot is so much more than that. And it is gruesome certainly. Sex and blood aplenty can be found within the pages, but so can a really great horror story. And there is a reason for the sex and the blood, so for me it was great. It's the needless sex and blood that annoy me. So I would definately recommend this for any horror fan.

Are You Ready?!-- Grab your night-light, puke bucket, bible, and hold on for dear life! Can you imagine the inner workings of Mr. Lees mind, where in the world does he come up these intense images, and what in the wrong with me that I can't get enough of these stories! It gets 6 stars for the repulsion, and 7 stars for the sex!

Edward Lee had a good concept for a story with this one, but did not quite make the grade. Flesh Gothic was slow to start and remained a sluggish story. If you are into stories with more gore than actual fright, then this is your cup of tea, just do not expect actual chills with this story.

This book is gruesome and graphic and definately a bit more hardcore. If you are ready for something more, this is it. I would have rated it 5 stars but I did get somewhat repulsed.

Lee's books are so twisted, but so good. Just when you think you have the story solved, BAM, completely different ending.
