one of the better books i've read by Baxter, and i've read quite a few. It is harrowing and sombre, and full of adventure, and the kind of time-spanning speculative fiction that is what Baxter does best. The characters are many and compelling, the questions interesting and scary, and the answers are both resolved and left up in the air. Highly recommended.

Flood is like Waterworld should have been. Terrific characters, great action, perfect fluidity.
It is hard for a redneck like me to understand Englih novels ( that is, set in England), but I always enjoy Baxter's writing. This story just carries you along with it.
One thing, I want to know what Ark 2 is as well.
