This book is the remarkable first hand account of Margret Wittmer who settled on the island of Floreana in the Galapagos island chain in 1932. 600 miles from Ecuador, it took weeks to get there in 1932, and they battled tides for 3 days just to make landfall. 5 months Pregnant the day she arrived, Wittmer found the beauty of the tropical island constantly tempered by the trials of daily life. I shan't say more and spoil the story. Yes its Non-fiction.
