Most readers don't know that Emma Blair is actually a man, Iain Blair. Flower of Scotland is good British wartime fiction, with strong female characters and enough plot twists to keep it interesting. It isn't as "warm and fuzzy" as Rosamunde Pilcher, and the endings aren't always happy, but worthy reading all the same. There is a sequel, "Goodnight, Sweet Prince".
