I loved this book and stayed up all night to finish it. There was a lot of character development for Jason and Wynn (the main characters). At first, I didn't really like Jason - I thought he was wimpy, unimaginative, uninteresting, and without ambition or direction for his life. He depended too much on his older sister to do everything for him, even to find and woo a wife for him. I didn't think there was much to Wynn's personality or character either. She seemed to have tunnel vision, and it was hard to tell whether she was strong because of her passion for her field of study/interest or weak because of her allowing herself to be used and bullied by her cousin, who was also her fiance. The story puts these two together on a trip across Europe, where they face many challenges and hardships. Over the course of this journey, I fell in love with them as individuals and as a couple. Jason, in particular, grew and developed a stronger sense of direction and determination for his life and who he wanted to be as a person. He was pulled outside of his comfort zone - the mapped out life of being a Duke - to being a commoner who had to depend upon his own wits and hard work to survive. It was so much fun to watch these two develop such a strong affection and loyalty to each other and watch their relationship grow. I really wanted their relationship to work out and wondered how that would be possible since Jason was engaged to another very likable woman. I couldn't lay the book down until I found out how and if they got together in the end. The story was fun and had lots of humor added in to go along with the adventure and love story.

Summary: Lord Jason Cummings, Duke of Rayne becomes involved with 30-year-old bluestocking Winnifred (Winn) completely by accident. Since the death of his father and inheriting the title/responsibilities, Jason has finally decided to marry at the age of 30. Unfortunately, he finds it difficult to choose from among the tedious debutantes he has met because they all bore him to tears. Bumping into Winn (literally) he finds himself assigned to escort her (and two others) for the first leg of her journey. When Winn intentionally attempts to elude her escorts, he (again, accidentally) finds himself escorting her alone.
During their adventurous journey, Winn and Jason find themselves stuck together traveling through Germany and Austria to find the evidence to support Winns claims and thereby gain her admission to an exclusive art club. During their forced closeness, they resist the growing attraction to one another while they evade the pursuit of George (who is determined to force Winn into marriage).
Review: This relationship developed much more organically than most HR. In fact, Jason was at the point of becoming engaged to someone else when he and Winn metand that previous commitment/relationship must be dealt with upon their return to London.
Ms. Nobles stories are witty, light-hearted and very romantic but not raunchy. Shes a relatively new author who is quickly gaining acclaim.

I liked this book and really enjoyed it. I couldn't put it down. However the ending could use some help. The last chapter of the book I didn't agree with. Spoiler alert:
He just walks away and asks someone else to marry him. When he realizes his mistake, he doesn't talk to the girls parents, just leaves his engagement party and talks to the woman he loves through a door. The book ends with her opening the door. I wanted to know more. I wanted to hear them tell each other they loved one another. So it could use a little help but they do get together in the end and it was a very good book otherwise.

First book I have read by Kate Noble and I thought it was really good. It was fast reading, a bit of mystery, and an awesome love story.
