This was my first Jason Starr novel and I have to say I wasn't impressed. Whereas the premise of the book is good, the characters are what really brings the book down. Mr. Starr tries to develop his characters deeply, but only leaves the reader rolling their eyes and frustrated for an intellegent, adult conversation...even from the cops trying to solve the murder(s). The 20-something year olds have more of a high-school mentality and temperment, yet they've already graduated college and are holding down full-time jobs in the big, bad Big Apple. The story-line and crime(s) get lost in the immature dialogs of the characters. The book ends abruptly, with no real follow-up to the two main characters, leaving one with the desperate feeling of wasting hours of your life on a waste-of-time book. I highly doubt I'll read another Jason Starr novels.
