I just finished reading this complete series (8 books) and I feel Charlaine Harris did an excellent job with the characters, unexpected twists and plots. I often read an entire book in one setting so I could find out who did it and why!

Aurora and Martin have married, and his niece shows up at their door with a baby. Things go downhill for the couple from there. As in earlier books in the series, this one has some humor. But its ending will come as a surprise to most readers.

I like this author in general, and this was a very good book, definitely worth a look. A bit of a sad turn in the character's life...I do prefer the less easily available Shakespeare/Lily Bard novels and the more commercially successful Southern Vampire novels to this series, so give them a try as well!

I will be so SORRY to see this series end [if it does]. Yes, Harris mixes cozy and her darker themes with skill and panache.
Harris makes reading FUN. . .Live-wire action, small-town antics, unexpected plot ramifications, and a humorous tone
makes for fine reading.
For all collections !

As I've said in reviews of previous books in this series, they just keep getting better. This one is the best so far, and I can't wait to get into the next one. I highly recommend this entire series to anyone who enjoys a good mystery that's impossible to put down!

My first encounter with Charlaine Harris was thru Sookie Stackhouse. (Pre True Blood) So I have always wanted to read the 'Roe' series as my friends called it. While Sook is still my favorite read by Ms Harris I find Little Roe a delight. I liked the way she came into her own thru the series. You see and cheer for her as she begins to live her life. So I was just stunned by the turn of events in this one. Usually a series begin to slip and the reader begins to feel that he's been here before. Not with this one. I find myself returning to the final pages again and again. Read it. Get the first books if you can. But this one stands alone quite well.

I was very disappointed in the dark turn in mood and the outcome of the book. Someone died that I really, really liked. I had to stop reading the series at this point.

OMG!!! This book is the reason to read the series!!!! It doesn't get really really good until the last 50 pages, but holy bananas it keeps you on the edgeof your seat and the curve all it throws came out of nowhere!!!

In this book, Roe's husband's niece Regina shows up unannounced on their doorstep with a baby no one knew she had and a secret. Regina disappears as fast as she shows up, leaving behind her baby and the body of her ax murdered husband.

Roe is left with the baby, struggling with the intricacies of bottles, diapers -- and a mystery. Roe, martin and Baby hayden head to Ohio to retrace Regina's steps and find out why she left, why she took off without her baby and why her husband was murdered.

Super exciting story, kind of depressed at the ending and wondering where Roe is going to go from here.

The Aurora Teagarden books are a fun, fast read. This one settles the question of what happens to Aurora's husband as our local library didnt have any copies of it. I have found anything from Charlaine Harris is to my liking. Keep up the good work Charlaine!

I love Charlaine and I really enjoy the Teagarden series, but I have to say that this was my least favorite of them all. It was good, but I just thought that Roe was less sentimental and a bit too practical or too (gasp!) down-to-earth in this one. I kind of like that she's flakey over-the-top. Three bedrooms, one corpse is still my fave!

This latest in the Aurora "Roe" Teagarden series (Dead Over Heels, etc.) features the sleuthing Southern librarian in a gripping tale that explores the lengths to which people will go to obtain what they desire. Roe and her new husband, Martin, receive a surprise when Martin's niece Regina arrives on their doorstep with the new baby no one knew she was expecting. Several hours later, after a dinner party, Roe and Martin return home to discover Regina's husband, Craig, murdered in their yard, Regina missing and baby Hayden hidden under a bed. Roe, unable to have children, finds herself burdened with Hayden's care as she and Martin attempt to track down Regina after coming across a wad of money in the diaper bag.

Sleepless nights, a cross-country chase and a temporary stint at motherhood turn Aurora Teagarden's life upside down. When her husband's niece Regina shows up unannounced on their doorstep with a baby and a secret, Aurora's perpetual curiosity leaps into overdrive ... especially when the body of the girl's husband is found ax murdered in her own backyard.
Regina flees the scene, and Aurora is left holding the baby, struggling with the intricacies of bottles, diapers ... and a mystery. What was Regina running from? Why was her husband murdered? The answers are hidden back in Ohio, and that's just where Aurora goes, husband, baby and all. But Regina's secrets are very dangerous and Aurora walks right into them ... much to her own peril.

I've been enjoying the Aurora Teagarden books, but have to shake my head a little over her own claims of being 'good at solving mysteries.' In six of them now, the only way she's 'solved' anything is to fall into it or have the bad guys come after her!

However, they're entertaining with engaging characters. Well written and plotted. So, if Aurora wants to tell herself she's a great sleuth, she can go ahead.
