Book two in the Lords trilogy and just as good as the first book. This is the story of Jordan Willis, the Earl of Blackmore and Emily Fairchild, the daughter if tge country rector. How they meet and what happens after they meet makes for a dynamite story. The story held my interest; the characters were all well developed and interesting and the ending was excellent. You just know Jordan has a big hand in the downfall and slow ruination of the villain only because there was no way to actually expose the villain for what he was and what he did. This story earns a 5-star rating from me. Another must read for all Jeffries fans.

I wasn't all that impressed with this story. The plot device of Emily being forced to masquerade as Lady Emma just didn't work for me. In fact, the whole storyline didn't work for me. It just felt weak and formulaic. Not one of Ms. Jeffries better efforts.

I really enjoyed this story, almost as much as I enjoyed the first book in the lord trilogy (the pirate lord). The heroine is just the right mix of both innocent and sweet, but feisty as well. The hero is somewhat arrogant but in the end, you love him too. A really good read; it's definitely going on my keeper shelf.
