This Eve/Roark crime novel has a slow start but becomes much more emotionally compelling by page 150. There's a Russian mob boss who turns out late in the book to be an especially well-drawn and appealing character. Amazing how JD Robb can keep churning out compulsively readable books.

Except for this book (the whole series, really) being set in the future, this book is pretty much like all police procedurals.A tough female cop, with a sexy husband. I know this is a very big series of books, but I think just one is enough for me.
