One of the fiercest fighting regiments during the Civil War. The 41st Ohio saw combat in every major battle in the Western theater during the war. They were always reliable, and often played a pivotal role in turning the tide of battle. They were among the few hand picked men that broke through the Confederate lines during a daring nighttime pontoon boat raid that open the "Cracker Line", ending the seige of Chattanooga.

When this book was released in 1999 the owner of Blue Acron Press, Richard Baumgartner (historian, editor and author of several Civil War books), agreed to meet me in the parking lot of a Denny's in Huntington, WV, so I could take the book with me on a vacation trip of all the 41st OVI's battlefield sites. I've met him several times since then at Civil War events. I have several Blue Acorn Press books signed by Mr. Baumgartner. Sorry, I ain't trading those books.
