I really liked this book. It actually consists of 4 sisters romances. It's a very nice romance. Don't expect steamy in this one. Although I love steamy, this is still a very good choice.

it didn't have heavy sex scenes-because it didn't need it! She kept just the right mix of inunendo, bringing things just to the edge without becoming graphic. It was a freshing change from some stories where it seems like the story is shoved aside to see how many times an author can destribe a couple making love in minute detail. There were really four love stories going on and each character was likable and engaging. The rakes acted like rakes and the characters seemed to like each other from the start-something I like in a romance. This is the perfect book to read on a bad day when you need a lift, a light happy romance that will leave you sighing happily at the end.

cute story 4 sisters all who want to wed....
Could have made this a 4 part series and given more character to the other 3 sisters.
Overall a fair read...

Playful. I am not usually into romance stories. I am as romantic as a wet wash cloth. Yes I am. I've had complaints. So I am reading some romance stories. This one actually had me laughing. Can't knock that.

A fun, madcamp romp of a historical romance. Very enjoyable!

This is one of Stephanie Laurens' first Regency Romances. Though it isn't as good as her later Historical Romances, it was still an enjoyable read for Regency fans!

If you want to read Stephanie Laurens, but want something less steamy or graphic than some of her other titles, this is the one...leaves more (almost all) to the imagination.

This is one of my favorite SL Regency novels, it revolves around The Duke of Twyford and his four beautiful wards.

This is one of the first books written by Ms. Laurens. I actually like it more than her more current ones.

When Max Rotherbridge unexpectedly inherits from his uncle, he also inherits 4 beautiful wards. As one of the most notorious rakes of London, he knows all the tricks a bachelor (with bad intentions) can think of and use on unsuspecting young ladies (fresh from a rigid upbringing in the country). Of course, all the women are drop-dead beautiful with exquisite clothes and handsome dowries. Yawn.

Max immediately selects the oldest, and most beautiful, Caroline Twinning. This story is unusual because all four of the young women are married off in the same book. Essentially, this is the story of 4 impossibly-stunning ladies finding 4 of the most die-hard confirmed bachelors (and noted rakes) of the Ton -- and eventually marrying them.

It is a straight story, no great disclosures of emotional significance. This is pure escapist reading. There is nothing wrong with it; I just felt that there wasn't much that I got out of the story. It's very average.

The Duke of Twinning realizes he is ward to four attractive females. The first of which he begins to become interested in. The women are more than just silent ladies waiting for marriage. Quite interesting read. Enjoyed it.

Max Rotherbridge couldn't believe it. Along with the dukedom of Twyford, he -- London's most notorious rogue -- had inherited wardship of four devilishly attractive sisters! Including the irresistible Caroline Twinning. The eldest Twinning was everything he had ever wanted in a woman, but even Max couldn't seduce his own ward . . . or could he? After all, he did have a substantial reputation to protect. And what better challenge than the one woman capable of stealing his heart?

She was unquestionably a lady. Still, that had never stopped him before. He could see that she was not, he thought, that young. Even better. Another twinge of pain from behind his eyes lent a harshness to his voice. "Who the devil are you?"

In no way discomposed, she answered, "My name is Caroline Twinning. And if you really are the Duke of Twyford, then I'm very much afraid I'm your ward..."
