My late mother was one of Erma Bombeck's biggest fans, and her books were always around our house. I found that a re-read of the first three of these was just delightful--it brought back wonderful memories of growing up in the 1970s and of my mother in particular. However, the fourth (Motherhood: The Second Oldest Profession) gets very dark and maudlin and I really didn't like it at all. Still, highly recommended for those who remember Bombeck's writings or the 1970s and would like a trip down memory lane. She's still a treasure.
