Of course I've heard of Forsyth before, but I've never read him. It's a fast book to read but I was rather disappointed. It feels very 'flat" to me: he tells us this happens, and then that happens, and then this other thing happens all without much emotion or insight into the characters. The story uses the teenage hacker as a magical wish-fulfillment device, but we never see anything from his POV. Nothing ever goes wrong with Britain's attacks and the enemy never gains the upper hand. Plus an unbelievable happy ending. Don't get me wrong, I was cheering for our side, but it just wasn't that good. Maybe I should try one of his earlier books.
