You ever stumble across someone's diary and "accidentally" read a page or two? You get this one little snippet of their life. It could be boring, that they had soup for dinner - or it could be something serious, like they are clinically depressed - or it could be something silly, like they let their dog lick their toes because it tickles. That's kind of what this book is. It's someone sending out a secret of theirs into the world to be discovered, and maybe even published somewhere. The entire project has fascinated me from the beginning and I'm even more fascinated to watch what it has become. Don't miss this - or see a postcard or two for free at the website - postsecret.com

PostSecret is a compilation of postcards sent to Frank Warren anonymously. Sometimes frightening, sometimes sentimental, sometimes sad, always moving. Secrets brought into the light, albeit anonymously, may give the author hope of sharing again - out loud - to someone close. Secrets brought to light open windows to our souls and allow freedom to enter in. I know I could have submitted a number of these secrets myself. Maybe you will find this true as well. Thought provoking reading.

This book is a rather odd bit for the postsecret book. It seems as if some of these postcards fit the postsecret trend and others do not. Also you get a sheet of stickers in this book that say My Secret in different styles and fonts, why you want to go around labeling your secrets is beyond me, but oh well to each his own. Some of the postcards in this book are awesome, others are boring. On the book it says that these were by teens and college students, though inside I highly doubt they have a 40 year old person who would be considered a teen or the college student that they have in mind. Also in the book you sometimes get little quotes, which they use up two pages to put these quotes into the book when really they could have used up a quarter of a page and given us more postcards to read. So again a good book but not great, would have liked more postcards for your money.

A most thoughtful read. This book has message after message, most from teenagers, about fears, life, emotions, experiences, and much more. It takes one back to those years when all of one's life was so important. Will I be loved? Drugs. Sex. Growing up. Friendship. Rape. Molesting. Ridicule. Death. Graduation. Success. Failure. So much to think about. I'm sharing my copy with the teenagers in my family.
