Not much mystery but a whole lot of action. Very fast paced, rolls along like a Hollywood thriller, with twists and turns and death and confrontation seemingly in every chapter. The whole Elvis Cole series is highly recommended for fans of detective fiction. If you like Spenser and Hawk, you'll like Cole and Pike. It's really that simple.

Enjoyed this one also. Crais's writing just gets better every adventure. If you like an almost noir vibe this series is for you. Reminds me somewhat of the Mike Hammer, Raymond Chandler stories not quite up there with the The Maltese Falcon but close ;o)))

Not the best Cole/Pike novel I've read; relatively light reading in comparison to the others in the series. Not enough Pike. He's always good for action and drama. Good summertime quick-read.
