Jaymie Leighton loves vintage kitchenware and recipes. She also loves her family's Michigan cottage on an island. She doesn't love that the entire backyard has to be dug up for a new septic system, nor that she trips over a body stabbed with a vintage ice pick in her backyard during the night. Suspicion falls mostly on her backyard neighbors who have a secret they are hiding from the rest of the islanders. Jaymie's boyfriend's parents are visiting him on the mainland and the mother could prove to be a mother-in-law from hell while Jaymie's own mother is proving to be the mother from hell. Throw in a detective who seems to want more of a relationship with Jaymie and you have a good read.
