Same interesting prose as "A Million Little Pieces." More touching.

A much better read than A Million Little Pieces. If you even remotely liked Frey's first book, give this one a try. You will be pleasantly suprised!

I love Leonard!! And I loved this book. It would be so nice to have someone like Leonard in our lives.

I loved a million little pieces, and could not wait to read my friend leonard. The book was emotionally moving and captivating. I could understand what the characters where going through. I felt like I was on the sidelines experiencing the story as I read it. A must read it you like to feel happy, sad, overjoyed and kept in suspense.

Even tho we all know that James Frey was less than honest in his "memoir"...his books are still interesting....and Leonard was my favorite character from Million Little Pieces

Even with all the stuff that went down with "A Million Little Pieces" which was incredibly well written, this guy writes an amazing book. I think the Chicago Tribune said it best, as quoted on the back cover..."Amid all the furor and scolding, one thing has been overlooked...The guy can write."
If you read his first book and liked it, read this...it picks up where that one ended.

Because of the controversy about the truthfulness of "A Million Little Pieces" I was skeptcal about this book. It was an enjoyable read as long as I knew it was fiction.

i like this author, and whether or not it was fiction, he does an excellent job with the storyline. He made me feel what an addict actually feels.

I liked this book from the author. I also read his other book and heard about all the untruths of it.

A memoir/enhanced recollection of James Frey's life after leaving rehab and perhaps jail. The sequel to A Million Little Pieces is told in the same loose style, more following the twists of a troubled mind than always a narrative. But I find Frey's work riveting, and dashed through this tale of his life in Chicago and LA, with his mob friend/father/ protector Leonard.

This story picks up where Million Little Pieces left off and it's impossible to put down. Frey's unconventional writing style successfully conveys his deep feelings of struggle, grief, fear and loss during his struggle to beat his addictions with the help of his friend, Leonard. Poignant story.

This book to me was not as good as his first one, but it was a good book.

James Frey has become one of my favorite authors. First, with "A Million Little Pieces" and now continuing with "My Friend Leonard". He takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions through the entire book. Funny, outrageous, and heartbreaking, you will never forget James and his best friend, Leonard.

I started reading this book about five o'clock Saturday night and finished it Sunday morning around ten. I sobbed and sobbed at the ending. It is a very moving, very honest, very believable book. It makes you consider what you do and how you do it. It makes you think about judging people and loving people and losing those you love. It is a wonderfully written, meaningful book. I couldn't put it down.

Very similar to Frey's other writings but I enjoyed it. There is a lightness and humor to his writing which makes it easy to read.

A continuation of the main characters life after A Million Little Pieces, this book is a good read. It reminds us that even though life might be hard, it is worth living and friends are what make the world go 'round.

I loved this book. The author has a really refreshing method of writing out dialogue. I devoured this book in less than 3 hours, I just couldn't put it down. It's definately a must-read.

I read this one a year after reading Frey's "A Million Little Pieces." It's a page-turner-lots of surprises in store. It took me through the whole range of human emotions. Before this one, I had never bawled my eyes out over a book, but this one did it to me. It is a beautiful, perfect ending to Frey's story.

I took a long time getting into this book. I'm not sure why I kept my distance from it, because I enjoyed A Million Little Pieces. Having finally finished My Friend Leonard (by reading over half of it in 1 sitting), I can say that even if people are angry that James Frey "embellished" his life in his previous work, the fact that he is a gifted writer cannot be disputed. I would have to say it is even better than his other book and well worth the effort and time it took me to read it.

Every time I look at the cover of this book & A Million Little Pieces I get upset. It was a good read, the writing was excellent and the story was great... until I found out it was not true at all, the author lied. Had the truth been known at the beginning of this read i'd of loved it a lot more. It made me so upset. I just can't get past the lie and the idea I believed it all.

Great book. A must read follow up to a million little pieces. What's fact? What's fiction? Who cares? It's a nicely told story of a guy living day-by-day, struggle-by-struggle... He inspires us all to hold on... no matter what the addiction or circumstance we are trying to overcome!

This is the sequel to "A Million Little Pieces". I have received two of these books, both brand new, so I am sending one of them into the system now. I enjoyed Freys style of writing in the first book, so intend to enjoy this book also, altho to date it is still unread by me.

The person narrating this book is so good - he goes into every different character and makes the story come alive. I liked this sequel to A Million Little Pieces better than the first story. I cried at the end (which was a bit scary as I was listening to it as I was driving). Very good story - very entertaining.

I have read everything Frey has written and I swear I'd read his grocery list if I could. His writing and story telling simply ROCK! My Friend Leonard is a wacky, sweet story of life after addiction and the people wacky, sweet people who help you along the way. I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves a book they cannot put down.

after reading a million little pieces, i wanted more, felt as though the story left too much hanging and unanswered. although not as riveting as the first book, my friend leonard does fill in pieces of the story left out previously and gives a more formal close to the story of frey and his life after rehab.

I enjoyed it, but I enjoyed the first one too. I don't care if he made half the stuff up, I think the man can write. Really threw me for a twist at the end.

Despite the controversy over both of the books James Frey wrote I found them to be a "Not Able To Put Them Down" reads!

Just a wonderful book. It was great to read about some of the characters from "A Million Little Pieces" James Frey is an exceptional writer and I will buy his books in the future. The ruckus over "memoir or fiction" was ridiculous and I personally felt it did not change the great enjoyment I got out of reading either book.

This is Part II of the controversial James Frey's saga...this is a great character - even if some of the tale is make-believe!

A solid story of life and friendship. Beautiful ending.

This is the 2nd in James Frey's books of memoirs and it tells a little more about what happens in his life after getting out of rehab. I disagree with Oprah's ridicule of these books as they are very powerful and as far as how long he was in jail or how his girlfriend killed herself is irrelevent!! A MUST READ!!

Awesome book - follow up to A Million Little Pieces. Highly recommended!

This is the follow up book to A Million Little Pieces. It tells about James and Leonard, and their friendship after James is released from jail. It isn't nearly as depressing at A Million Little Pieces, and you have hope for James, and for the way he has chosen and how he continues on with his life.

This isn't a bad read: it's entertaining, though after James Frey's "outing" on Oprah for not writing a strictly factual autobiography, it's probably not completely true. I read it in two days, so it's an easy read.

I haven't read this book. I won't because of the controversy of the book being embellished. I wish it'd been presented as fiction. Maybe someday I'll come back and put it on my list to read. For now I'm releasing it to the community of PBS to enjoy.

I wasn't as impressed with this book as I was with Million Little Pieces. I had a hard time getting through it and felt that it was very redundant at times. I almost got the feeling that the author was getting paid per word. An unfortunate disappointment.

This is a wonderful book!! Once I started it, I could not put it down. It's almost like you are reading about people you truly know. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has an addicted person in their family. It is very insightful into the mind of a "user"...
