Great first book by a new author. I really enjoyed this book. Louise receives a friend request sent by someone who died over 20 years ago. The request seems very real and Louise tries to figure out who sent it. She has secrets in her past that come into play that she has tried to forget that come roaring back to the present to haunt her all over again. The ending is not what I expected, but is still very good. Would recommend this thrilling book!
Wow! This is quite a thriller. Some twists, turns and frightening moments. I was pleasantly surprised and I didn't guess the culprit. Well done!
Louise befriends Maria, the new girl, in high school. But then quickly deserts her to maintain her social status with the popular mean girl crowd. Things happen at prom and Maria goes missing. But we learn all of this in pieces as the book goes on. In the beginning we start with a Facebook friend request from Maria to Louise. But isn't she dead? This one kept me guessing all the way until the end and I never would have guessed how it ended. Well written and well paced with the suspense and the story line.
1st of all it took me forever to read this book. I saw a lot of 4 to 5 star reviews so I thought, why not? Louise is the main character & the book skips back & forth between high school in 1989 & present day 2016. She's still caught up over 20 years later on how she wasn't popular in high school & how she & her "friend" Sophie she clung to be with popular & the new girl Maria who she befriends but ultimately betrays through peer pressure. Present day Maria (who's dead) sends a friend request on facebook to Louise who had something to do with her death & the book is downhill from there. Louise is so weak & needy & desperate in high school & still in present day & can't let go of the guilt of whatever happened to Maria. Louise is divorced with a young child who she would rather spend time with that pursuing healthy adult friendships. I thought the book was too long, convoluted, & whiny. It wasn't worth the time & effort to read but I always finish a book.
this is an exciting psychological thriller about getting a Friend Request on Facebook. However the request was made by someone who died over 20 years ago.
So goes the twisty mystery, one thrilling scene after another keeping me on the edge of my seat for two evenings.
Now I know why I don't belong to Facebook!
I certainly recommend this compelling book.
