I have enjoyed this whole series however, I was a little concerned with the previous book River Marked, which is the weakest of the series so far. Well no worries here - my wise-cracking, shape-shifting, fun-filled heroine, Mercy is back! A rollicking urban fantasy with all your favorite characters that keeps you guessing until the end who the real bad guy is. A must read for all Briggs fans.

An excellent addition to a wonderful series! Begin at the beginning of the series, because there are a lot of characters to keep track of, each with their own motivations. Why would someone want a werewolf to kill a senator? The answer is more complicated than it first appears.

The Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs is excellent. She has created a character who is likeable, and sincere. Mercy has grown in each installment. She is kind, brave, loving, and devoted to the "people" she cares about.
I read this book in a couple of sittings, and was sad when I finished reading. It was great fun to have her vampire "friends" as part of the story. Her relationship with Adam is strong, and propelled the story forward to a satisfying end.
I am looking forward to the next book!

I sucked up this story in one day, it was sooooooo good I wouldn't put the book down for nothing.
Patricia Briggs just keeps bringing the unpredictable action.
If you haven't read this series, do yourself a favor and start with the first 6 books.
I am so sorry the book ended, I keep thinking about the story and how it could have lasted at least another 500 pages.

I absolutely love this series! I enjoy the interaction between the characters, the diversity of the key players and the strength of the storyline.
The story begins shortly after the end of Fair Game. Mercy and Jesse are out shopping at midnight on Black Friday when they are involved in an accident. Their calls for help go to voicemail for everyone they attempt to contact. They soon learn that the pack has been kidnapped and Ben is the lone escapee. The pack bond helps Mercy contact Adam but leaves her helpless in locating him.
I appreciate that the story returns home to the pack and Mercy's ragtag group of friends. I love that Stefan is instrumental in the plot. Tad has matured and becomes an ally for Mercy.
Mercy is a great character. She is strong, smart and snarky. What more can you ask for? The Sandoval family adds the needed human element. The girls are adorable.
This is a series that I read and reread. I know that I will be very sad when it all comes to an end.

I look forward to each installment in this series. This story was great and I love that Mercy keeps growing and her relationship with her husband keeps getting stronger. Patricia Briggs writes such interesting characters. Wonder when the movie will come out.
Patricia Briggs has done it again. I love her Mercy Thompson series. She grabbed me with the first book, and this is one series that I have to purchase in hardcover because I can't wait to read the most current book.
Mercy is a coyote shifter who is now mated to Adam Hauptman, the local Alpha werewolf, and in this book she has to rescue Adam and the pack members after they were kidnapped by .... oh, can't tell you that since that would be a spoiler. Needless to say, she fights her way through to accomplish the rescue, and at least doesn't wind up in a wheelchair this time.
I really like her character. She's feisty and innovative, and a very loyal friend and pack mate.

I love this series and this book is no exception. Great story, great characters and a totally fun book to read. I love the relationship between Mercy and Adam, which is part of why I love the series. I enjoy books where we get to keep tabs on past characters and that happens here. I wouldn't start with Frost Burned, I'd start with the first book in the series, Moon Called. But all the books are totally worth your time.
Mercy and Adam are good at standing by their friends. In Frost Burned the definition of "friend" gets expanded as well as their definition of their territory. Logical, fun and exciting. Definitely up to the standard of the rest of the series.
This picks up after the events of Fair Game. Mercy is out Christmas shopping on Black Friday with her step-daughter Jesse. Mercy's beloved Rabbit gets totaled. None of the pack answers when she calls. They've been kidnapped.
This one was so much better than River Marked (thus far my least favorite). This one picks up full steam ahead. I liked the who-done-it. But, I thought it could have been a little more suspenseful. Jesse and the Sandovals disappear after a certain point. The mystery is still out there how the mercenaries were able to get their hands on so much of the formula that does, very effectively, take down werewolves. Who else knows about the formula? I loved that Tad and Stefan (and briefly Zee) were in this one. Kyle also had a decent toll to play too.
One thing I wish were different: Mercy has people who, if not friends, are allies. But they are all men. The women in the pack (Honey and Mary Jo) don't like Mercy. Marsilia is a bitch. Ariana might be a possibility, but she's on the page briefly. That leaves Jesse. As much as I like Jesse, she's a teenager. Why can't Mercy have an adult female friend?
And this: Jesse's question to Mercy at the beginning on the book when they are out shopping. "When are you and Dad going to have a baby?" Mercy never had or got a chance to answer that. And I admit I'm curious.

Love it, starts off not to long after Fair Game in the Alpha and Omega series. Mercy finds her self with a missing pack and husband. Ben escapes his would be kidnappers for find and protect Mercy and Jessie. Tads is in this story a lot more then past stories. Bram sends an unlikely allie to protect Mercy as well as help locate the pack, Asnil is a bit on the helpful side but also helps bring in some comedy in not so funny situations.
