In "The girl with the Dragon Tatoo" the author referred to this author. I liked the story, style and characters. I've ordered his other 2 books and he has another coming out the end of this month. (9/2009)
This series is written in a very vague and stark manner, not a lot of details and can be hard to follow the "voice" of the person at times.
College students being attacked and seemingly no reason for it, digging deep to find the link is a very dark challenge for Erik and the team.
New happenings on the personal fronts of characters keep it moving forward.

Winter's not as fun as Hole, Wallander or Moerck. Very methodical, straight forward, kinda a dull detective. The author spends as much time on the home lives of the police officers as he does on the case. This book is very slow at the beginning and then the last chapters you will fly through to see what happens. Then it abruptly stops. The book is for Erik Winter fans only.
