If you're looking for a hero in the main character of this novel, you'll be sorely disappointed! What he is, is a con man that was falsely accused of murder and took asylum in a country run by a blood-thirsty dictator. Twelve years later, he's running again, going home to face his accusers, while hiding from the secret police from the country of his asylum.
Another great story from Phillip Margolin. Once I started this book I had a hard time putting it down. Stayed up till 2 a.m. to finish it as I had no idea what the outcome would be. A great read if you like mysteries ,and one I highly reccommend.
Charlie Marsh fled to Batanga when he was about to be arrested for murder but his stay in Batanga was about to end in a horrible way so he flees back to the U.S. to stand trial with the hopes of being acquitted, in the mean time the President of Batanga has sent someone to collect what Charlie had gotten out of the country. Keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Phillip Margolin really knows how to keep the suspense going and his characters stay true to themselves. No dull moments in this story. Highly recommend to mystery lovers.
