This is a great story of how an unlikely group of friends ended up owning a classic horse. It speaks of the heartbreak and the exhilaration of the sport of thoroughbred rachin. This is a must read for any horse racing enthiusiast! The only thing I wish is that the book delved a little more into what happened after the Triple Crown Series was over. I knnow that Funnycide races for a few more years but it doesn't go into details as far as why he didn't win any more major races or if his Triple Crown season was a fluke. But overall, this is a great book and I highly recommend it.

i love horses and i especially love stories of those that have great heart and talent. this is one of those stories. it is a very easy read. Ms Jenkins has a very lovely way of describing people and scenes. i would love for her to write a sequel picking up from where this one left off. this would make a wonderfrul horse lover gift.

Lovely, fast read that I wish continued into Funny Cide's 4 year old career. The book tells the backstory of how a race horse affects the lives of everyone around him, and the inside scoop of what occurs to prepare a race horse.
I remember watching Funny Cide run and all his owners coming into the winner's circle at the Kentucky Derby. I loved how the backstory of this horse is brought to life. Wish there were more books like this one about other horses.
