Don't let this book fool you. It appears to take place during Christmas, due to the snow and holly on the cover, but it takes place from April-June and no mention of holidays. Otherwise it was a fairly good story, but a little dated.

I really enjoyed this book. I had swore off Roberts for a while because they were just getting too predictable and were not holding my interest. This book though was very very good. I read it in one sitting and even though parts of it was predictable it was still enjoyable enough to keep me reading and enjoying! Highly recommend this one as a quick and fun read.

One of Nora's most touching stories. A must read for Nora Roberts fans.

Pregnant and alone, Laura Malone, gets stuck on a Colorado road in the middle of a blizzard. Gabriel Bradley, a renowned painter, rescues her and brings her to his home to ride out the storm.
Both have suffered losses with different results. Gabriel his beloved brother and he no longer feels a reason to live. Laura has lost a philandering, abusive and wealthy husband and is now running from his parents who are determined to take her child from her as soon as he is born. She believes that they will be able to because they have money and can hire lawyers and manipulate the system.
Gabriel takes her with him to San Francisco, partly because he wants to marry her and partly because his attraction to her has reignited his will to lie.
A light and interesting read, although I have to say I really cant imagine any court taking a child from a birth mother and turning the child over to the grandparents.
