I read this book many years ago and I believe it to be one of Brenda's best!!! The book is well written with a well developed plot, setting, and characters. The political intrigue and historical significance of a time gone-by is obviously well researched and thought out by Ms. Joyce. A good read if you like history woven through your romantic storylines.

I liked the storyline in this book, but I really enjoyed the historical characters - Queen Elizabeth, Robert Dudley, Thomas Butler, William Cicel, etc. I felt like I got to know a little bit more about them through this storyline, even though the story was fiction (the author tried to keep the historical facts as accurate as she could).

An EXCELLENT read. Has pirates, Queen Elizabeth I, and a convent raised herione. Lots of twists and turns and nothing is exactly as you expect.
