This book is absolutely phenomenal and one of my all-time favorites. It is deep and real, sad but can still provoke a smile. I read it in 5th or 6th grade I think and I still wouldn't mind reading it again as a sophomore in high school. It is perfect for all ages 12+ as it isn't a "dirty" teen novel like most out there these days, but just a wonderful story that can speak to everyone, from preteen to teen to adult. It is different from many of Lurlene McDaniel's books, but still just as pleasing as the others. I would post this book here, except it so wonderful I can't bring myself to part with my copy!
