Ever think of how plants could work as WADs (weapons of awful destruction)? I found myself grinning wickedly at times while I was reading a novella entitled "Garden Guerrillas", by Jane Stevenson. It was one of three stories contained in a book entitled Good Women It's a fun tale of an older woman, a widow, in England, who is threatened with being ousted from her long-time home and the garden to which she has devoted 40 years of meticulous care and planning. And, the author gives the "formal" (Latin) name of every plant mentioned in the novella, and gives the reader to understand, also, the intimacy between these plants and their human hostess/caretaker/benefactress.
