Garv's Girls Starting at the young age of 10, Keith began his career drawing comics. Many hours were spent drawing the Spiderman and Daredevil characters created by Jack Kirby. For 2 years Keith focused on the art of Jack Kirby and then one day, at the age of 12, he discovered Playboy magazine. One glance at a Vargas painting was all it took. Drawing comi... more »c characters just didn't seem interesting anymore. Still only 12, Keith decided to take this great new book home with him. Hiding it from his parents, he ran up to his room and immediately started drawing the Playmates. Over and over he tried to emulate the sexy look of the Playboy models. Keith would say that Vargas helped pave the way for his great journey and, beautiful women were his inspiration. Like many artists throughout history, his drive was to capture beauty in his own unique way. Keith's style is considered new-school digital pinup art. Taking digital to a new level, he takes the modern age lifestyles of today's youth and place them into modern day pinups. With his pencil in hand and computer by his side, he creates a new-age style of pinup that can be only described as sexy, fresh, and stylish. I would say that all of Keith's girls are his favorite probably because he just keeps getting better. Each new image has higher quality and detail than the last, developing new styles that amaze even himself. Keith Garvey would like to pay respect to the greats who have helped him on his way. He draws inspiration from such artists as Sorayama, Patrick Nagle, and Milo Manara. In his future he hopes to be considered as one of the great modern pinup artists of our time. He hopes to stand alongside other top artists such as Armando Huerta, Carlos Cartagena, and Olivia. Keith Garvey also hopes to break new ground for digital art in the pinup world.« less
