Although Rutledge doesn't spend most of the book driving around as in previous entries, he does appear to be as sleep-deprived as usual. I thought this was a good tale in the series and shows his meticulous investigating techniques. Characters are well fleshed out. It's not like those classic country-house murders where all the suspects are gathered together, so the culprit isn't in the picture early on. Only gripe is that I thought the motive for the killings was a bit of a stretch. (And I was very surprised when Rutledge let one suspect avoid answering a question he'd been worrying over for a while.)
