The car crash that killed HEaven and Logan left Annie Casteel Stonewall orphaned and crippled. Whisked off to Farthinggale Manor by the possessive Tony Tatterton, Annie pines for her lost family, but especially for Luke, her half-brother. Friend of her childhood, her fantasy prince, her loving confidante ... without the warm glow of Luke's love, she is lost in the shadows of despair. When Annie discovers Troy's cottage hidden in Farthinggale's woods, the mystery of her past deepens. And even as she yearns to see Luke again, her hopes and dreams are darkened by the sinister Casteel spell ... treacherous, powerful and evil!
This is the last series of the 4 books
The Casteel family tragedies continue. Annie seems like a more sympathetic character than Heaven, to me. She is an innocent girl in a tragic situation. Somehow she escapes the recent V.C. Andrews "formula," to feel like a real person.
love the maze, teh cottage, the secretiveness and the twists and turns of the plot. writing is not great but this is old school thats why we love vc andrews!

Gates of Paradise is a sequal to Heaven, Dark Angel and Fallen Hearts, so if you've enjoyed these 3 books you'll love this. The story is told by Heaven's 18 year old daughter 'Annie'. She is taken to Farthinggale Mannor by her mysterious great-grandfather Tony Tatterton. Annie pines for her lost family, especially Luke- her half-brother and secret love, but when she discoveres the cottage owened by Tony's brother Troy the mystery of Farthinggale deepens... I couldn't put Gates of Paradise down. The plot is so well thought out and there are many unexpected twists. I would recomend this book to girls aged 14 and over. It is a fantastic story!
