A Gentle Feuding" is an outstanding story! In the Highlands of Scotland, beautiful Lowlander Sheena is taken against her will to Castle Kinnion and gains the interest of the Laird -- her clan's mortal enemy -- and his brother.
Jamie is a hero's hero; strong, compassionate, gentle even. Sheena is simply gorgeous, a spirited heroine whose love for her brother Niall leads her into a lot of trouble -- and right into Jamie's arms.
It's fun to see Jamie compete with his brother Colen for Sheena's love, and even more fun to see how Sheena tries to resist them both. There are many memorable scenes in "Gentle Feuding," including the scene where Sheena is trapped in a burning hut after a clan raid. How Jamie reacts is unforgettable.
I can't complain at all about a single thing in this book, it was that good and satisfying. I'm amazed that there are reviewers who disliked Sheena because of her estranged relationship with her sisters or because of her so-called vanity. I personally believe the relationship with the sisters was realistic, and there was not a single vain bone in Sheena's body.
Read "A Gentle Feuding." It's one of Johanna Lindsey's best works.

What can I say, it's classic Johanna Lindsey, which means it's great, living up to her reputation. The name Sheena seems a bit out of place, but that's just my opinion, other than that it was wonderful.

good book
This book shows how serious fueds were in Scotland. Loved every word.
Sheena is to wed, laird Jamie MacKinnion, to end the violent family feud. Pride insists she hate her enemy, her heart begs her to yeild.
This book has an older cover. Slightly yellowed from age. Still readable.
Proud and fiercely independent, Sheena knows what her duty is as jewel of the Fergusson clan: She must wed to put an end to the feud that has devastated her family. But though she agrees to marry Jamie MacKinnion, she will never give herself completely to the dark and dangerous laird. Pride insists that she hate her husband-to-be, the most feared man in the Scottish Highlands. Why then can't she deny the desire awakened by Jamie's surprisingly gentle touch? He is her captor and her enemy -- yet Sheena's heart is the real traitor, for it begs her to surrender freely to a passion beyond bounds...and to a man she dare not love.
This book has the older cover on it.
