Roald Dahl's wonderfully macabre sense of humor fills this story with absurd but believable high jinks. Grandma is a more than average grouchy curmudgeon and George innocently (well, so it sounds) sets out to change her.

DD and I loved this book. DD has become a Roald Dahl fan and won't let me repost any of his books we have! This book is fun to read to young listeners using voices and lots of expression!
George has a nasty grandmother, so he decided to wreak revenge with a special concoction he mixes up, using everything and anything around his house. Hilarious results!

george can't stand being with grandmother. she is mean and old. one day he decides to invent a 'medicine' to help cure her nastiness. the story goes on to describe the ingredients and what happens after his grandmother takes the medicine. it give lots of descriptive details on what is going on in the story.
there is only one problem with the book though, please make sure that any child that reads this book knows the difference between fact and fiction. in real life, the medicine could have some tragic consquences.
overall, great imagination, great description. i love the way that i can picture that is happening in my head. i can't wait until my son is old enough to read it.

This is a really funny book, I have always liked Roald Dahl's books because of the humor in them. :)
Another great one by Dahl, my 9 year old loved this book!
Good book about a boy helping his Grandma find a cure for her grouchiness.
Paperback binding.
George is alone in the house with Grandma. The most horrid, grizzly old grunion of a grandma ever. She needs something stronger than her usual medicine to cure her grouchiness. A special grandma medicine, a remedy for everything. And George knows just what to put into it. Grandma's in for the surprise of her life- and so is George, when he sees the results of his mixture!
I like how the kid wants to turn his grandma into a cow! She must've been pretty mean.
Excellent book - funny!
Well, I heard (read?) an interview of Roald Dahl talking about being kind with everyone, yet his books are very mean-spirited. He's basically encouraging witchhunts with his books.
He is such a great author. All kids just love his books. Such an imagination!
Great read!
George prepares a special medicine to cure Grandma of her grouchiness. What a surprise when George sees the results of his mixture!
George decides his grandmother's medicine isn't doing the job, and cooks up a batch himself, with hilarious results.
Georg is going to fix a strong medication to cure grouchy granma...
a remedy for everything. And George knows just what to put into it but both of them are going to be surprised when they see the results of his mixture.
