I love this book. I am 65 yo and trying to learn to write children's books. I was blown away by the depth of the research and all the information it gave about a subject that I had just lightly researched. The story keeps you going. This guy is my new favorite author.
Packed with adverture, my daughter even enjoyed it.
My son read this book and said that it was an awesome story.
A good boy story that is a nice mix of fact and fiction. I found this book very moving and hard to put down.
Not as good as other teen-age level books by this author. Primarily a murder/hidden treasure mystery, this is set in pioneer Washington State, with Nathan, the son of a lighthouse keeper, as the main character. The reader will also learn about the lives and social customs of the whale-hunting Makah Indians, the original inhabitants of the area.
